Project partners have identified gaps in terms of training of their staff in innovative learning and assessment methods and strive to close the gap by joining efforts in a collaboration built on complimentary partner profiles. There is a pressing need to improve teaching skills of participating organisations' staff and therefore to enhance learning outcomes of their students in the specific context of languages. In addition, private and non-profit organisations feel the need to partner with Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to better match with innovative approaches, one of which is to open up to Open Educational Resources (OER) and to meet the needs of 21st Century skills. The new Erasmus+ Programme places strong emphasis on innovation and organizational change in the higher education sector and its cooperation with strategic partners in other sectors (European Commission, 2013a).
